Once lessons are over and exams have been passed, many students turn their backs on their schools forever. But for two ex-pupils, their old classrooms presented the perfect opportunity to make a difference

He may have been in his own words “a bit of a handful” at school, but former pupil turned teacher Louis Proust knows the value of education. “I had a maths teacher who was inspirational – so good you couldn’t help but want to learn from him. Now, all these years later, I’d just love to offer that to a child myself.”
