HELENA POZNIAK

An experienced journalist, Helena writes about the influence of technology, science careers, working life, higher education and research. From epigenetics to wildfires, she’s interested in the impact of science on life and learning. Teenagers and technology are an ongoing theme.

At the BBC she worked as a producer and reporter on European news and features (BBC World) and previously for Reuters. She now writes regularly for The Telegraph, The Guardian, E&T Magazine and has written for The Independent, The Times, The Financial Times, Evening Standard, BOLD expert, and Future Magazine, where she was education editor, and many more. She also writes for leading universities and school publications.

A rusty linguist – with French, German, Italian and Portuguese - she’s a journalist fellow of the Jacobs Foundation, where she’s trained in reporting neuroscience and childhood trauma.

Helena also chairs and speaks at the odd seminar and workshop. She’s based in the south of England and escapes to the trails or allotment when she can.
