It was the early days of lockdown in March 2020 and business owner Rosie Davies-Smith had just had a baby. Some 90 per cent of her PR agency clients had cancelled their contracts amid uncertainty about the future, and she was facing high staff and office overheads.
“I was fully aware I’d lost something I’d spent a decade creating. It hit me hard emotionally. I had a week of mourning for what I’d built,” she recalls. “And I was navigating everything as a new mum.”
Four years on, she and her family have upped sticks from London to Devon, and she’s managed to switch her business model and retain her original staff. How did she do it?
